1. Intensive French Language and Culture Program

Program Overview
The French culture not only consists of the beautiful latin based language and the irresistible flavours of the patisseries but it also emerged from the growth and globalization of competitive industries such as Wine and Fashion/Luxury Goods industries which are embedded in the French society thoughout history. Groupe ESCE's Summer Program provides the oppotunity for the participants to learn the French language while understanding the essential roots of the French culture through gaining knowledge of two emblematic industries: Wine and Fashion industries.
Course 1: French Language and Culture
Objective
The main objective of this program is to provide the participants with a sufficient knowledge of the French language that acts as a solid basis from which future learning of the language can be expanded.
Course Levels
Beginner Level (8 ECTS)This course is open to students with little or no previous knowledge of the French language.
Intermediate Level (8 ECTS)
This course is intended for students who have obtained the basic knowledge of the French language (at least 1 or 2 years of French language training) and who wish to improve in-depth their communication and writing skills
Course 2: The Art of Wine and the Globalization of the Wine Business
This course is designed for participants who are interested in the understanding of wine making and gaining knowledge of how the wine industry has been an influence in the French culture and how the wine business has an impact on the globalization of the French economy. The course includes the following areas: - Investment in the French wine industry, Introduction to the making of French wines, Apellation process: history, Principles and rules, the French wine industry in the world: position and economic impact, Understanding the French wine label, Specificity of French wine production: "What is terroir"?, The keys to understanding the classification of French wines, Champagne - a world apart: process, region, economy, Specificities of marketing the French wines, French wines in comparison to the "new world" wines.
Course 3: Marketing of Fashion and Luxury Goods
This course focuses on the following topics: Key concepts and historical background of fashion and luxury goods, Consumer profile, French "Grands Couturiers": Chanel, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Jewellery and perfume industry, Marketing luxury products, Brand-product portfolio and pricing, Integrated Marketing Communications for Luxury Brands, Advertising analysis.
Program Requirement
The program is open to anyone who has completed their high school diploma and of legal age at their respective home countries (eg. 19 ears of age) who are interested in learning the French language and culture with a twist of business.
Language Assessment Test
Upon registration, all participants are required to take an online language assessment test. This will permit the program organizers to place the participants in the appropriate levels. A log in instructions to the test site will be provided when we receive your application form.
Cultural Activities
Weekly cultural activities are organized in combination to the courses. Participants are able to enjoy approximately 20 hours cultural activities during the program. All cultural activities and visits organized are truly unique, providing participants with the experience outside of the usual realm of touristy activities allowing partiipants to see the French culture and traditions from the eyes of a foreigner and a local.
Accommodation
Accommodation is available upon request at a private Residence building proximity to the school building. Single or double studio suites are available. Please click here to find out more about the available accommodation. Please download an accomodation request form here.
PLEASE NOTE: If you wish a double occupancy studio, you must have a roommate identified before requesting the studio (eg. someone in the program). In some special cases, we could assign roommates but we cannot guarantee that we will find a roommate for you.

| STEP2: | Complete the application form and send it together with the list of documents included in the application form to Mimi Maung at the postal address provided on the form before April 15, 2010 (absolute deadline is May 15, 2010) |
| STEP3: | After we receive your application, we will review and we will send you an email message to confirm |
| STEP4: | Upon receiving our confirmation mail, you will have to send a payment in full (if you wish accommodation at the Residence, the fee for the Residence should also be included) Methods of payment: wire/bank transfer (detailed transfer information will be provided to you on the invoice which wil be sent to you upon receiving your application form. |
| STEP5: | A final acceptance letter will be sent to you by post upon receiving your confirmation payment (before May 30th, 2010) |
| STEP6: | Non-Europeans, consult the nearest French Consulate or Embassy to obtain information on if you require a visa to come to France for a short period of time and apply for the necessary tourist visa to France (if required). The final acceptance letter can be used to apply for this visa |

2. French Language Teacher Training Workshop
*** Upon request, we are able to organize a French Language Teacher Worshop during the month of July for a minimum number of 15 participants. ***

Specific agreements with foreign universities – we always welcome new partners Courses related to International business and/or French Tradition and Culture Program structure and choice of courses as requested by the partner university Two to four weeks in duration during the month of July Accommodation (double occupancy) at a nearby Residence and airport arrival pickup arranged by CIECE upon request Cultural excursions and weekend trips arranged according to specific agreement with the partner university Participants also have the opportunity to take side trips to other attractive European cities on their own during the program An opportunity to meet the locals and learn the French language and culture directly from other French/Groupe ESCE students An orientation program, welcome and farewell dinners hosted by CIECE An opportunity to visit French and International companies as requested and required by the partner university within the framework of the program
All summer programs follow traditional educational teaching style and taught by Groupe ESCE professors.
